Directive on the European Investigation Order and Remote Participation

On 23 June 2026, the European Commission proposed a recast of EU cross-border evidence rules and a new order for remote participation in criminal hearings. The draft targets differing national practice and missing procedures; on publication, it was a legislative proposal for the European Parliament and Council, not adopted law.
